HearWHO is a free application for mobile devices which allows people to check their hearing regularly and intervene early in case of hearing loss. The app is targeted at those who are at risk of hearing loss or who already experience some of the symptoms related to hearing loss. Among those who will particularly benefit from this new tool include:

• people who are often exposed to high levels of sound, such as those who listen to loud music or work in noisy places;
• people who use medicines that are harmful to hearing; and
• people aged above 60 years. 

The WHO Malaria Toolkit app brings together the content of the latest World malaria report and of the consolidated WHO Guidelines for malaria in one easy-to-navigate resource. With the swipe of a finger, you can instantly access: 

• the latest information on malaria policies, financing, interventions and burden in all malaria-affected countries;
• all of WHO’s most up-to-date recommendations on malaria, as well as the evidence underpinning each recommendation; and
  
• links to other resources such as operational manuals, handbooks and frameworks. 

SunSmart Global UV App is a free application for mobile devices that describes the level of solar UV radiation at a specific location. It also provides time slots for when to apply sun protection measures, in an effort to reduce the global burden of skin cancer and UV-related eye damage.

The WHO Academy’s mobile learning app was developed specifically for health workers and is designed to enable them to expand their life-saving skills to battle COVID-19.  It delivers mobile access to a wealth of COVID-19 knowledge resources developed by WHO, including up-to-the-minute guidance, tools, training, and virtual workshops to support health workers in caring for patients infected by COVID-19 and in protecting themselves as they do their critical work.

WHO GRSInfo allows users to explore and interact with the data from the Global status report on road safety 2018, published by WHO in December 2018. Through this app you can, among others:

• quickly access the report’s key messages;
• run queries and obtain lists of countries that meet a given criteria;
• compare country profiles;
• compare a country’s death rate and legislation with global or regional averages;
• save the results of your queries;
• search words within the full text of the report.

The first WHO guidelines app from the Department of HIV and Hepatitis provides on-the-go access to WHO’s current HIV Testing Services (HTS) guidelines and information.

The WHO Skin NTDs app is a free application for mobile devices targeted at front-line health workers with no specialized knowledge on dermatology. The app is a handy educational tool for the management of 12 skin NTDs and 24 common skin diseases at the primary health-care level.

The app contains a photo gallery, information on case management and two logical algorithms that work offline once the app is installed. The app can provide a list of suspected diseases in just three clicks. Additionally, results for skin NTDs can be filtered by the country of origin of the patient (or the locations visited).

 The updated App is now available free of charge on both Android (here) and iOS (here) devices.

WHOeyes is a free, population-facing mobile application that checks near and distance vision and provides educational messages. The principle of WHOeyes is based on how an eye care professional would assess vision using a conventional chart in a clinical setting.

WHOeyes is available in multiple languages and is suitable for anyone aged over 8 years. 

WHOeyes does not replace the need for regular eye checks by an eye care professional, even if your vision is good.
